I am always researching someone for many, and on occasion, I even dabble in the portions of our Lineage

I see your son Danny's public tree showing Leverett William Smith Sr, b. Apr 1852, MA, with parents Freeman & Rhoda.  Which after today I feel are not Your Leverett Smith Sr.'s parents and why this web page, hoping to show why not.

And to resolve those Researchers who show the parents of Leverett Smith, b. 1852, ME or MA, as Freeman Smith and Rhonda, the following research I present to clarify.

I find a couple Public Tree's with an Leverett Smith, b. 1852, MA, however they are going by an 1870 census that shows Parents as Freeman & Rhoda, there are 5 other public trees which are correct that I can see in their Tree, of having Leverett Smith, b. between 1850-1852 ME, with his parents who are Freeman Smith (his parents as Jacob & Mary Smith) & Freeman's wife Rhoda nee Allen

I can trace Freeman Smith (from above) to 1850, Rhoda & Freeman in 1860, and the same of the Leverett Smith, b. 1852, ME

However, this Leverett is not born MA, as per the 1860, 1870, 1880 and I find him again in 1920, all showing his being born in ME

Nehemiah P Smith

Going off the birth of Leverett, 20 Apr 1852, the following marriages of a Nehemiah Smith & Mary.  The 1822 marriages are listed on different pages, handwritten and typed, and Mary Kendall and how handwritten you can see how they transcribed as Kendal, Kindall, Kerchal, Kandal.

And there is a 1793 marriage of a Nehemiah Smith & Mary Beals or Beales, both of Abington, which could be the Father of Nehemiah Smith who marries Mary Kendall.

Belchertown is 100 mi from Abington, Plymouth Co., Belchertown & Ludlow are 11.6 mi a part.
